Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and your lovely family?

Hi there!!
My name is Mathilde and I'm the mother of Cony, 4, and Zola, 2. We're currently renovating a small cabin at the foot of the mountains in Alsace, where we live.

Your wildest dream you'd like to achieve with your family?

It's being able to take them to New Zealand. We spent a year there before we had children, and I loved that little country. It would be a joy to be able to show it to them.

I am a family and brand photographer specializing in the world of childhood.

I work instinctively while also keeping notebooks full of notes and sketches of whimsical ideas. I love documenting real life, whether my own or others', capturing the adventurous moments of everyday life with a good dose of color.

I also enjoy creating unique worlds and aesthetic atmospheres, then letting people move freely within those spaces.

What are your little pleasures in life that you share with your two loves?

We have a fairly slow-paced lifestyle, respecting the children's rhythm. Our little pleasures consist of taking the time to do things together, even if it takes more time or is more restrictive, because we love being all together.

What I love is watching the birds out the window with them, while we're still under the duvet.

You told me you place a lot of importance on free play. Could you tell us more about that? Do you think our products encourage free play?

I love toy-games that can have multiple uses, and especially those where children can invent their own rules. Free play allows for experimentation, intuition, and mental construction, and it is just as important as guided play activities.

Ma Cabane À Rêves magnets are perfect for this. Children don't need adults to create their own world; they are completely independent and every day, they invent new ways to play with the magnets.

My magical secret is the sandwich panel cabin!

It sounds a lot less dreamy said like that, haha! During the renovation of
our house, we are living in the garden, in an old, refurbished camping chalet where the ceiling and some of the walls are magnetized :)

What do you think of the quality of our products?

The quality is superb, I had never seen such
thin magnets before, it's really great. In addition, the packaging is very thoughtfully designed. The magnets are built to last!

How can we encourage a gender-neutral approach to choosing toys for children?

This is a topic close to my heart: offering a range of toys to my children, regardless of their gender. This is also one of the aspects that immediately appealed to me about Ma Cabane À Rêves.

During my first pregnancy, I listened to episode 36 of the podcast "Les Couilles sur la table" with author Aurélia Blanc, and I was fascinated to see how much gender stereotypes could influence our upbringing.

Since then, I have constantly questioned these automatic behaviors and social constructs in order to offer my children a freer childhood.

What new magnet themes would you like to see added to our collection? More for children or for adults?

Oh, I would love to see a collection that's a bit more woodland-themed, with forest animals, different tree leaves, animal footprints. Something nature-related that could create beautiful shared moments between children and adults after a walk in the forest.
