This is the question we are most often asked before a purchase. "My child is 2 years old, is that too early?" Or conversely: "My son is 8 years old, is it still suitable?" We'll answer your questions.
At what age can you start?
Our magnetic games are CE certified and tested in an approved laboratory for children aged 36 months and up. Why not before? Our magnets are thin — which is what makes them so beautiful and practical, but it's also why they are better suited for children who already have good fine motor skills. Before 3 years old, we recommend thicker wooden, cardboard, or foam magnets, which are easier for toddlers to grasp.
From 3 years old, it's go time. Each box contains between 30 and 60 magnets depending on the theme — characters, backgrounds, accessories. Everything sticks and unsticks on any magnetic surface: whiteboard, fridge, armored door.
Magnetic games 3-4 years old: the first games for toddlers
At this age, children need themes close to their daily lives, easy-to-grasp pieces, and games that don't have a "right answer." No objective, no rules — just a magnetic surface and characters to move around.
The Dress Up game is often the first favorite: dressing, undressing, re-choosing. Simple and repetitive, exactly what toddlers need. And evolving: with an older child, you can discuss the weather, seasons, and learn to dress according to the weather outside.
Animal themes — The Farm, The Forest, The Ice Floe — also work very well at this age. Children already know these worlds, they can name the animals, invent simple scenes. And to start playing with letters and numbers without even realizing it, the Large Capital Letters and Magnetic Numbers gently make their entrance.
Magnetic games 5-6 years old: time for curiosity and imagination
Stories become more complex. Children want to understand how the world works, explore new universes, and invent scenarios with multiple characters.
This is the age of great expeditions — The Ocean, The Jungle — and more elaborate role-playing games with The Dolls, The Professions, or The Creative Professions. It's also when learning takes its place: Small Capital Letters to consolidate reading, The Shape Laboratory to explore colors and geometries. The Garden involves building flowers, hiding small animals among them, finding them — and discovering their names in French and English thanks to the included picture book. And for nature-curious children, The Butterfly Life Cycle follows each stage of transformation — from egg to butterfly. Educational without being academic.
Magnetic games 7-10 years old: for older children
Anatomy — the human body, organs, skeleton. Recommended from 7 years old, it's the ideal game to satisfy children's scientific curiosity. Also perfect for supporting school learning.
Magnetic games that grow with the child
This is one of our favorite points. At 3, children play with shapes and colors. At 5, they learn the names of animals, professions, and body parts. And to go even further, each box contains a bilingual French-English picture book — ideal for enriching vocabulary while having fun, without even realizing it.
And after 10 years old?
The magnetic board doesn't gather dust. It just changes its use. Teenagers use it differently — to hang photos, notes, polaroids, lists. A creative surface that gradually becomes a personal space. The magnetic games, meanwhile, are passed on to younger family members. Or they stay in a corner for days when you want to play a little longer.
